GTA Living

The greater Toronto area (locally abbreviated as the GTA) consists of the city of Toronto and the regional municipalities of York, Halton, Peel and Durham. The GTA is the eighth largest - and one of the fastest growing - metropolitan areas in North America. This urban center is a hub of activity in terms of business, financial and artistic endeavors. If you have had your eye on a house for sale in Mississauga Ontario, perhaps it is time to buy it and become one of the two million people who call the GTA home.

Because the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) public transportation system connects all parts of the GTA, from the most remote regions to the downtown Toronto homes, getting around in this community is easier than ever. A fleet of buses, streetcars, subways and trains transport millions of Torontonians across many kilometers day in and day out. The subway system alone saves many people hours of time that would have otherwise been spent idling in busy traffic.

There are so many things to do and see in this area that the choices can be overwhelming. Finding out what to do and what to see, however, is an easy task. Online resources, including the latest Rosedale blog, are great places to find out what is happening in and around the city. Radio, television and billboard advertising is yet another amazing source to find out about the many events happening in the GTA. For the sports fans, for example, there are Toronto Raptors basketball games, Toronto Blue Jays baseball games, Toronto Maple Leafs hockey games, Toronto Argos football games, and many other sporting events including soccer, field hockey, cricket, and more. Almost any sport you can think of will have some sort of event throughout the year in the GTA.

If you are more artistically inclined, the theatre district has dozens of shows to offer throughout the year, not to mention the famous Toronto International Film Festival that is held each year and welcomes film makers from around the world. The Royal Ontario Museum is another hot spot for art enthusiasts, and the exhibits are changing all the time. A nighttime stroll down Queen street will fill your ears with the sounds of live bands playing at various pubs and cafes, and if this does not draw you in, the smell of gourmet food and wine will! While you are there, you may get some shopping done, and absolutely anything can be found in the downtown shopping district - from authentic Chinese green tea to the hottest cell phone accessories. The vast array of options for shopping and entertainment in the GTA is endless, no matter what your appetite or preference may be - there is certainly something for everyone.

Whether you are living in the heart of the city, or on the outskirts of the GTA in one of the many beautiful Etobicoke Condominiums, you can be proud that you live in such an exciting area. The growth of this section of Canada is incredible, and this trend is sure to continue for many years to come. And with time, there will surely be more and more things to discover in this vibrant region of Ontario.
